The school was divided into groups ensuring that each group included students from each year group. The brief given to the groups was to make a free-standing Marble Run with two drops, using only cardboard and sellotape.
The opportunity to work together with peers of different ages enables our students to develop their teamwork and communication skills. Points are given to teams for their ability to work as a group (these points are determined by them as well as the teaching staff), how interesting the structure appears (voted on by the school), whether or not the marble run meets the brief.
Interestingly, the teams that attain a good overall score are ALWAYS the teams that have achieved high scores for their TEAMWORK. This is a great discussion point for reflection at the end of the day.
The Marble Runs this term were AMAZING and the students worked really well together ensuring everyone was involved. A great way to end a busy and FUN term 2.
