Teenagers can be tricky......and so can 'teen' numbers!

We are learning to read, write and recognise our 'teen' numbers.  We are also learning to identify a 'teen' number as being made up of 'one ten and some more'.

Take a look at how clever we are!

One ten and two more is twelve!

We are busy creating our teen numbers!

One ten and four more is fourteen.

One ten and seven more is seventeen.

Yay!  I have made one ten.

We are busy working in our jelly bean shop.....remember we can only put ten jelly beans in each container!

Yes....eighteen is made up of one ten and eight ones!

Seventeen is made up of one ten and seven ones!

Shape it, make it, paint it!

We had the good fortune of having a real-life sculpture artist (Uncle Keith) visit our school some weeks ago.  We finally had the opportunity to paint our creations today.

They are looking fantastic and we can't wait to take them home!

Pukeko are great SWIMMERS!

The Year 1 - 3 Intensive Swimming School has begun!

Our first week has been filled with much fun and many 'FIRSTS':

  • first time blowing bubbles,
  • first time putting head under the water,
  • first time floating independently,
  • first time in the deep pool,
  • first time jumping into the pool!
Check out some of the fantastic things we have been doing!

WE'VE GOT THE POWER! Cell Batteries.

Our Science topic is ELECTRICITY.

We have been learning about cell batteries and simple circuits.

We would be more than happy to replace the batteries in your torch or alarm clock.  Ask us to show you the positive and negative sides of the cell batteries.
