House Games and Iceblocks!

Today we took part in the annual College/Primary House Sports events.

We carried buckets of water whilst shuffling on wooden planks.  We had to get across a 'river' using only hoops.  We threw and caught bean bags using towels before we chased a 'dragon's tail'.....to name only a few of the fun activities!

Once we had finished the games, our Year 1 and Year 2 class went to the local dairy to spend their hard earned 'worm wee' money.  Iceblocks all round!

It was delicious having a cold iceblock on such a HOT day!

Have a look at some of the games we played and the fun we had!

Egg throwing........and catching (we hope)!

We are growing PLANTS.....

The Kiwi class are diligently caring for their plants and they are delighting in the daily growth taking place!
Pop in and see our plants as they go from seeds to saplings!

Highs......Lows.....Obstacles...........It must be ATHLETICS DAY!

The weather was kind to us on Friday when our school had our annual Athletics Day.
The Kiwi class participated in high jump, long jump, dart throwing, gumboot throwing, an obstacle course, 50m sprint race and a mighty tug of war!
We may have been tired at the end of the day but we had SO much FUN!

Baby you're a firework!

The Kiwi Class wrote an acrostic poem about Fireworks and we then made some wax crayon Firework art.

Come in and see our finished masterpieces on the wall!

Halves and quarters are YUMMY!

Recently we have been focussing on identifying half and quarter of a shape.

Today we made yummy sandwiches and then ate our halves and quarters!

Shapes, Shapes, Shapes are EVERYWHERE!

We have been revisiting our Geometry Strand during Maths time.
We can tell you many of the features of our shapes such as how many sides and corners they have.

We have been invaded by Pokemon!

Our annual Students vs Parents Mathematics competition is a highlight of our school calendar!

This year our school were divided into teams of Pokemon (Mr D is now a Pokemon expert).  After answering mathematics questions our teams had to complete an obstacle course before they could get the next set of questions!

It was SO much fun and as always the Students beat the Parents - of course ;-)
